Hi Staceylee

Sorry I don't wish to be rude but surely the idea of starting a new life is to experience different people and cultures. I see you ask to meet up with people from the county you come from which is Yorkshire. It would be such a benefit to you and your family to get outside your comfort zone and reach out to everyone out there who are in the same situation as yourselves. Once again sorry if a appear to be having a go but I always fail to understand how someone can move their lives thousands of miles away and only mix with people from where they come from.

I know not everyone will share my opinion but that's all it is an opinion so no nasty comments thank you

Who says they only want to mix with people where they come from? Maybe the guy only wants a mate to watch the football and the rugby with, and it does help if its the same team! Just because you move to Australia you dont have to suddenly get all multicultural!

Well it does say "anyone from Yorkshire want to meet up" so I guess that says it all. Also where does it say you can only watch sport with people from the same area as you and why does it help if they support the same team. The best banter is when a group supports different teams so think your a bit wrong there mate

THE DIFFERENCE IF YOU MARRY A YORKSHIRE GIRL!......

Three friends married women from different parts of the world.

..The first man married a Greek girl

. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning.

It took a couple of days, but on the third day he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a Thai girl.

He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results but the next day he saw it was better.

By the third day he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table. ...

.The third man married a girl from Yorkshire.

He ordered her to keep the house cleaned,

dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table every day. The first day he didn't see anything,

the second day he didn't see anything either,

...... but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down,

he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.

He still has some difficulty when he urinates.

Please do not "mate" me! I am not your mate and by the way you speak to people, I really dont want to be either.

Hi Stacey

We're not there yet, August 7th is the magic day. We'll initially be staying in Carramar with family whilst we find a rental with Jindalee looking favourite at the moment. Me 42, OH is 35 and we have a 2yr old daughter. We're from Halifax and I've just spent a long day on the beer saying goodbye to all my mates at Elland Road. Last day of the season has always been the same sketch but it was slightly different this season as it's the last time I'll see friends I've made from all over the UK whilst watching LUFC.

Hopefully we can catch up in a few months

Can everyone please consider others before posting?

The OP came on with a perfectly reasonable request, their motives for doing so are their own. If you're not in a position to make a positive contribution to the OP's request might I suggest some thoughts are best left unsaid?

Thank you.

Stace really don't think you should feel the need to explain yourself. Would have joined in with your thread but we are Wigan supporters......:). Been to Headingly a few times to watch the great Yorkshire /Lancashire matches, with the great Ellery Hanley playing for both teams....happy days. Hope you manage to sort a meet up soon,

Stacey, we went to see Western Force at the NIB stadium last week and it was superb. I realise they play proper rugby  but I think the West Coast Pirates are the local NRL team. They also play at the NIB and the atmosphere there was fantastic, some great banter and a really good ground.

I realise it's not the answer you were looking for but it might keep him happy.

This is a forum and as such I am allowed to voice my opinion. I wasn't rude but "weedolly" decided to reply in a very " bad tempered" way. I asked a question and expected a civil answer but then again maybe I expect too much especially from people who have anger issues
