Marshel
Has anyone recently had their health check referred to the MOC and if so what were the time scales like for this coming back? We haven't had any information back on their processing times and it is becoming quite frustrating. Thanks
EmrysLisa
Hi, My partners health got referred to the MOC. It took about 5 weeks for it to come back all clear. However, we now have to wait because there are only a limited amount of VISAs left for this years allocation (which ends 30th June). We are applying for a 190. What VISA are you applying for? It is very frustrating having to wait, it feels like your whole life is on hold. Although it will be all worth it in the end!!
Marshel
Hi EmrysLisa We are in the same boat .. medical referred, on the 190 visa and then the delays on top of that. My medical got referred on the 29th March, that's nearly 6 weeks ago. Last week we were told they are still working on the 19th March, not had any update but been waiting on one from our migration agent. When did you find out that yours was cleared? It is a very frustrating situation to be in, sitting about in limbo not being able to organise anything! It will be but it feels like we are never going to get there
EmrysLisa
Hi, We only found out because we pushed our agents to contact our Case Office. My other half has managed to get a job but really needs to be there by the end of this month so we asked to see if there was any chance. Unfortunately it isn't looking likely & there is no way round it. We are gutted because it would of been nice to arrive there with one of us already having secured a job. It is horrible having to wait, you are right it often feels like it is never going to happen. It is hard to keep positive at times & it seems like every time we get over one problem we are hit with another. It might be worth asking your agents to give your Case Officer a nudge to see what is happening. I just know that they are currently short of spaces & this may be why it is taking so long. Please keep in touch, it is nice to be able to have contact with someone who is in exactly the same position.

EmrysLisa
Hi odies, I'll definitely keep you all posted. I can't wait until I can post VISA granted!
Marshel
We had our agent email two weeks ago and then last week and it was the same information fed back, they are working on the 19th March and mines was referred on the 29th March. We thought we would have heard something today but had nothing about it, hoping we get something fed back tomorrow. We were advised that you can put mitigating circumstances forward and we've said we would have liked to be onshore for when our baby is born but can't do anything with that just now as we have no idea what's happening with the medical? You could ask if having a job offer would count? Maybe e-mail them yourself and explain the situation to see if that would help, seen someone on here mailed their case worker directly and they got their visa granted. Worth a shot? That's exactly how we feel about it, when it's looking good we hit another bump in the road and it really gets you down. I'll keep you updated for if we hear anything. EmrysLisa
Hi Michelle, Hope you get over before your baby arrives. When are you due? Our agent did put it in the email about the job offer but they said it didn't matter ...if the job falls through there will be other opportunities. Hopefully you will hear soon Lisa
Marshel
Hi Lisa That sucks! Hopefully they still have an opening for when you eventually get out there. Have they told you that you will have to wait until July, we haven't even been given this information just that we might be affected. It's the same generic email we receive about the delays, nothing concrete on our own. I'm due on the 14th Aug and have 6 more weeks until I'm not allowed to fly Michelle
EmrysLisa
We haven't been told that we have to wait until July. They sent us a generic email not committing themselves to anything. They said that it could be before but there are limited spaces left but then again it could be after. I don't think they like to give any definite's just in case something goes wrong. Fingers crossed that you get your Visa within the 6 weeks. Whereabouts are you planning on settling?
Marshel
Yeah same to you guys as well, hope you hear something soon. We went last year and liked the mandurah area but met a woman who said it's more where people go to retire, however on here I spoke to someone and she said there are family areas as well. For my husbands line of work it looks like there are a lot of jobs in the rockinham area and when I go back to work it will be in the city. So between rockingham and mandurah it's looking like. I've had a look at the houses in Port Kennedy, quite a few have pools and the prices aren't sky high. Have you guys thought about where you will be staying? EmrysLisa
Oh wow....CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so pleased for you. Hopefully ours won't be too much longer then. You better get those flights booked xxx
EmrysLisa
You will have to let me know where you settle etc. We are probably going to book Holiday accommodation first in the Fremantle area but I'm not 100% sure where we are going to settle. It depends on where my partner gets a job. I'll probably end up working in Perth so it will be somewhere in between Perth & where my partners job is. Your Visa grant has got me all excited
Marshel
Hi Lisa Thanks! Still can't quite believe it, been busy all day getting things cancelled and booked up. We're heading out on the 6th June, this is when the house sale goes through so just doing it all on the one day. We are going to be renting a villa in Mandurah for 4 weeks, we were there last year and really liked it so going with the same place. From there we are going to try find somewhere around Rockingham or Mandurah, think there is quite a few job opportunities around the rockingham area for my hubby. For me when I start work I will be like yourself, working in Perth. I will keep everything crossed you hear soon, you should call and chin them down the phone. Worked for us! Anything is worth a try! x
EmrysLisa
Think we will give it a go & ring. We were warned not to by our agents but I can't see the harm. It does sound like you have been busy today. The time will fly by & before you know it you will be there. What line of work is your husband in? My partner is Joiner. x
Marshel
I asked our agent a few weeks ago about emailing them and she was ok for us to do so, she did say at the time though that they might not give us much information as we had appointed her to deal with our application. TBH our case worker hadn't been very helpful and last night we called direct to another girl in her team, today our agent said she was glad we got through to someone who was more helpful. At the end of the day you guys are the ones sitting waiting, your money is what has paid for it so you have every right to contact them. We didn't have any issues on the phone and the girl gave us the information we requested. We were lucky with our migration agent as well, she has been brilliant from start to finish. We had other people appointed before her who weren't very helpful, but she's got to have the patience of a saint dealing with us! In the UK he's a marine engineer working at sea but had his skills assessed as a fitter, meaning no more sea time! Hope it flies in, can't wait to get out there and start to get organised for this little one x
