unsurescot
Hi, my wife, kids and I are possibly moving over to Perth soon. We will be renting a house over there and would love one with a garden pool but don't know if we could afford a house with one. Can anyone advise on if renting a house who is usually responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of a pool, the landlord or tenants. Also how much it costs to maintain a pool/ how often it needs cleaned etc. thanks
Druid
Most agents advertise the pools including maintenance in the rent, but all they have done is jacked up the price considerably to cover the cost of a pool maintenance company, pools are not that much hard work, an hour every saturday morning is all I used to need to keep the pool looking good, it would be cheaper on the long run to get the house without pool maintenance and learn to look after it yourself, but remember, if it all goes wrong it's going to be your responsibility, if the agent calls in a maintenance company, you going to pay. verystormy
There are ways around it. We live in a small complex with a shared pool between us and there a number of similar complexes about or houses that come in a development that has a big complex as part of it such as coco bay in mandurah or timbers edge.
