roop
First, I would like to say thanks to all the members of this forum. We have the greatest persons in this forum. In other forums I have seen many people criticize & mock the new migrate having the hard time to settle their life in new country. But here everyone is like family & help each other. So great work guys...keep it going...I would like to thank especially VS, Ali, nikki,Akasully & many others who have helped me directly or indirectly with their posts Now my story of clearing the 1st stage of this process...getting VISA... it started exactly 2 yrs back. That time we decided to migrate to Canada, but as we paid all our agent fee the process of canadian visa had stopped till dec. so waited till dec but then they postponed the process till may'13.we could not wait this long. after 2 months of research we ended with oz. again made extra payment to agent to shift our case from canada to aus. 1. Getting Skill assessment form EA- my oh had done all the paper work( career episode & other docs reqd) himself, though we had paid hefty amount to agent but they did nothing more than checking the docs. Finally send our docs to EA in apr. But didn't receive any acknowledgement/caseID. after 2 months & some mails they e-mailed me my case ID. same happened with the outcome letter. till date I have not received the original outcome letter. after so many e-mail & explanation of my not received case ID earlier by post, they issued the duplicate outcome letter. for which I had to pay around 200 AUD with courier charges. all this process took 4 months of our precious time. 2. Applied for EOI & received the WA SS letter. paid the fee & completed the application. When I submitted my SS application the WA SS processing time was 14 days but as soon as I submitted, it became 30 days so again wait...wait & wait..... after more than 30 days when I didn't hear anything from them I decided to mail them. But no response. Then I call them. The result was... within 2 hours I received the SS. filled the agreement letter & mailed them on the same day. 3. Now comes to VISA. Everything was done but how to pay VISA fee, as I don't have that much credit limit on my credit card, which was 325000 INR for two of us. Bank denied to enhance my credit limit. One thing most important to mention here that DIBP increased VISA fee 2 times within this period. None of our friends/colleagues/family had that much credit limit. Had to google it & came to know about prepaid travel credit card. Opened a new bank account to get prepaid travel credit card & made the payment. But our struggle didnt end there...my OH's medical refereed to MOC...so he had undergone some additional med tests & again waiting process started for us.....on 22 feb of this yr we uploaded the additional med reports in hope to receive the grant within a week. But what we received....a delay mail from CO ...asking for patience.... after 2.5 months from that delay mail we finally got our grant on 13th May. So happy & relaxed we are now...It was like a task in which we had struggled on each & every step. After 1yr & 1 month of this whole process I am holding my grant letter in my hand...checking our names & details on this letter again & again....:) So...this is my story of getting the VISA...it's become a very long post ...don't want to bore you anymore...so ending my post with the hope that all our struggle end here & we will have a smooth ride on the next step of migrating to oz & will have fun in Perth. Want to meet some of you nice persons there soon...amen Good luck to everyone.. bye Edited May 15, 2014 by roop

SaffanZimbo
Congratulations on getting your visa. I think the Australian Visa process is one of the most stressful things I have ever come across! It makes us determined to make the move a success and get settled in WA asap. Good luck with your move. Have you thought about when you will move and where you want to live NOR/SOR or rural WA? I should know, I've don't it 3 times, 2007-RSMS lasted 6 months in remote WA, 2011-457, 2012-RSMS, now I'm determined not to leave Australia even for a holiday until I've done my 4 years and I'm a POSSIE

sunflower
Congrats! Our timeline looks familiar. What a stressful process! Especially the EA part. My husband wrote his career epioses and summary statements and everything. I translated them into English. Translating so many technical paperwork, knowing that it will affect your family's future, was stressful. Now it's over, we got the grant last month, flying out on 1st Sep. WE had impatiently packed everything and were ready to got when we got the grant. But brother is having a baby, so I'll wait till I hold my nephew in my arms. God knows when I'll see him again... Good luck in your new adventure
