We sold our house last July quicker than we thought so moved in with my mam and dad, with hubby and two kids so bit of a squeeze ;-) but working out fine and not long to go till we will have a huge Aussie house heehee. We are heading for baldivis SOR looks fantastic for family life. How about yourselves? i do not envy the 'sorting out stage' you are at , very stressful. I'm pleased we have done that already. Our shipment goes on 9th June .
Dartmoor345
Wow that's prior planning for you! Like you say, at least you have dine the sorting out phase and can now relax (a little) until your ready to go. Our removals come on 12 June and then were going on a round the UK trip to visit family and friends before flying. It won't be stressful at all:err:. we have booked ourselves a holiday let up in Quinns rocks for the first 6 weeks so we have got some time to search different area NOR and SOR as we haven't got a clue where we want to settle. You can only tell so much from the Internet and we have a top ten list of suburbs so need some time to look around. Our boy is five in July so doesn't start school till feb 15 even though he has nearly finished his first year here in the UK and our daughter who has just turned two will be on a bit of a long holiday before the routine of school and KINDY! Start to kick in. what were the main reasons for you choosing Baldivis?
Roadhouse
Our son is 5 in dec and as like yours has completed nearly two years of nursery here and will have to go back in to preschool and do another year as they don't take them in as early as uk. Us also have a 6 week holiday let to give us a chance to decide exactly where we feel at home. But with research of almost 4 years our thoughts keep going back to baldivis . We originally loved the idea of secret harbour which seems amazing but a lot of people suggesting it is a place for the more business type people with not a lot going on for family's, but this is just opinions of others and would still like to check it out for ourselves. Baldivis ticks all our boxs on paper with parks ,good schools ,close knit comunity feel about it and not to far from the beach , yet far enough to get more house for your money. But even tho we have more or less decided we want to live in this place, if it doesn't feel like home we have our options open . i beleive kindy is quite hard to get placements for, as once the class is full it's full and not compulsory so no other place offered until school years. unlike once they start school, if you are living in the catchment area the school has to enrol your child in the class of there age group. This goes for anywhere I have been advised by a few schools in person. hope your little ones are looking forward .

Dartmoor345
Hi Guys, yeah it is getting real but at the same time it doesn't feel real. I don't think it will feel real until we are on the plane and then it will be Oh S@&£ what are we doing. Ahhhhh. Roadhouse - I know what you mean about research, we too have been looking online at everything for about 3 years now and still haven't set our sights on a specific area. Like you said, I think it will be a case of driving round and seeing what places have the right feel about them. Baldivis is on our short list too pretty much for the same reasons you stated. We also like the look of Mandurah but a bit concerned about the commute into the CBD but as we haven't got any jobs yet we can't rule out anywhere. It's a bit like the chicken and the egg. At least we will all be close to the beach and ole fully the weather will be alright considering it will winter when we all arrive.

But hopefully will all fall perfectly to plan :-). It still feels like counting down to a holiday rather than leaving completely but very sure the reality will hit soon enough. We will all have to share our travel adventures and where we end up. :-). X
