Congratulations on the visa, if the house doesn't sell in a couple of months are you going on ahead or renting it out. I bet you're relieved they kept position open.

I ll be going first Keefo, oh and son following once house sold and dog packed off in september, i'll be going to stay with our daughter in perth and hope to start the rental hunt in the right school locality. Such a relief and after all doesnt look like I will be that much later then employer was hoping, prob only two weeks I hope still cant believe it! Actually only took 9 weeks from lodging visa applcation even though it seemed like an age!

Howw did the medicals go Keefo?

Medicals went well just hope results come back ok. Machester and surrounding area was a bugger with traffic. Appointment was at 10 & we set off at 7 only arrived there at 10 to 10. Afterwards went to Trafford centre and set off home around half 6 and only took hour n half.

Hi Hopeful and congratulations! Wish you we'll on your adventure and hopefully I won't be that far behind! It's made me think about type of visa I need to apply for now actually. Basically I'm not on WAs in demand list and not expecting much change in July so was thinking 457 but I see you went for 186. Was the employer flexible in type of visa? Seems like 186 would be much better than a more risky 457 so wanting to know more about how you managed to get this. ( I have wife and 5 kids so 457 might be gambling a bit...).

Anyway in preparation I've done my IELTS, pending vetassess skills assessment result, have house up for sale and was just about to start job hunt - one way or another we're going to try our best and get to Perth!
