telwalsh
Hi, I have been in Perth now for 3 months on a 187 PR visa which stipulates I have to live and work in Perth for 2 years, what I would like to know is can I leave my employer if things are not working out and work for another company without putting my visa at risk, any info would be great. Cheers Terry
Hopeful
If it's anything like the 186 I think it asks the employer if they have a wte post available to sponsor you for the two years not that you are bound to the employer, but I may be wrong! Immigration officer told me that's why employers are reluctant to sponsor for 187/186 as once you have the visa you could walk away with it. Again I never checked it out so could be wrong. hibster76
We have interpreted it to be that you should stay with you employer, but it is more of an ethical thing. We were told that you would have to show that you can leave by mutual agreement.

Cheers Terry Did you read about your visa? If so you will see that you are tied to the employer for two years otherwise your visa is at risk. DO NOT confuse the 186 with the 187, this is not an ethical requirement for the 187.
