Guest chrisan
We're meeting a migration agent tomorrow to discuss options. Given our age, 45, we can accumulate 60 points on the 190 visa, if we score Superior English and obtain 5 points for a state nomination. With this in mind, wouldn't it be easier to go down the route of a 187 regional nomination (we hold UK passports). Given these two options, what benefits are there to the 190 track? Thanks, Chris
verystormy
It is going to be hard to get enough points aged 45. The 187 Requires a employer to sponsor your for this visa. It also requires you live and work in a regional area.

Thanks, Chris I have commented on your other thread on PIO in more detail. But there really is no comparison between the 187 and 190 and the biggest advantage of the 190 is that you don't need to find an employer sponsor, which is close to impossible for most people. The second biggest advantage of the 190 is that it does not restrict you to a particular employer. It is an absolute no brainer, nobody in their right mind would pursue a 187 if they had the option of a 190.
