racheld
Hello all I sent off my modified skills assessment off today but I'm really unsure if I will be successful. My reference from my current employer in critical was great but I am unable to one from my previous employer due to being push out as I whistle blow on the bad care and undertrained qualified staff which would cover me for the 3 year required. So what I have done is enclosed the reference my employer did for my nursing registration in Australia. I'm not sure what to do if they don't except this. My my whole journey trying to migrate has be such a bad experience: 6 attempts at IELTS finally passed (took 2 years in total ) took 2 years to sell our house at a massive drop in price visa as company took our money but did nothing for us and now no contact with them. (found out that don't have a registered agent working for them) so lost all our money had a job interview for SJOG in london which went really well but didn't get it ( no feed back about why) and now this i also worry about my medical if I ever get there I just need a break and to get out to perth and start living after six years of trying just hope we get there soon:sad:
ali
Don't lose hope Rach - you've not thrown in the towel yet and there's been lots of things thrown at you. It's been a long time since I applied to ANMAC so can't say if your references will be sufficient, but they will let you know if they need more information - is there anyone else you can ask? another senior staff member or one of the Dr's perhaps? I also sent a statement from HR saying when I started at the hospital and also when I started in the NHS (I'd moved hospital but it was continuous service). They also wrote the what grade I was, I think I also enclosed a job description (trying to cover all bases lol). Re feedback from SJOG - did you contact them and ask for feedback? If not it may be worth contacting then and asking for feedback so that it can help you with future interviews. It may be that it was just a competitive process and other candidates were better on the day, they won't offer you the feedback as a matter of course - you'll have to contact them and ask. Medicals aren't too bad (honest), but I won't tell you not to worry as I was so anxious on the day - you can't help it ... you do have to strip off to your underwear though, so a good excuse to get something nice (and matching) from M&S lol Hang in there xx
travelchic
I found anmac to be helpful. I was unsure about which code to use. I'm an Endoscopy nurse which is classed as medical but my job description matches surgical. I contacted them and they said not to worry. They would contact me if something wasn't right. My manager included my duties to reflect medical as best as she could but it wasn't easy as i don't deal with wound care or disease process. Most of the patients i deal with are out patients but i passed. I am sure they will contact you if they encounter a problem.

FurryBear
My employer has written a reference and attached a copy of my current job description as part of it. Will this be sufficient for ANMAC?

As long as your reference reflects the points made in the anzsco code it will be ok. Debs

If it makes you feel better, I had to do 4 or 5 IELTS too ( can't remember now!) It's taken us 18 mths to get to the visa app actually going in! That's with a great agent, so I think your doing fab and I am so impressed you have the energy to carry on! I am losing the will to live with it all, Especially with this latest new re Nurses needing degree's. Stick at it, You'll get there eventually. I may never work as Nurse again, but We have made the decision to go now, So that's what we are doing and I may have to find another job, or have another baby! Keep me posted. xxx
