evie2007
Hi, im just getting my paper work together to apply to ANMAC as a midwife. Ive read through what it needs and im worried about the employers reference. Ideally I did not want my employer to know my plans at this early stage when it could be many months before we go. Do you think a reference from a delivery suite sister/senior would be ok? It doesn't specifically state it has to be your manager, just a supervisor? Im also a bit concerned as in the last three years I had a 12mth gap from practise for personal reasons. I kept my registration and prep up to date but didn't actually practise. Would this cause problems do you think in regards to the last 3 years of practise bit of anmac? thank you v v much sue

evie2007
That is exactly who I got to do mine. Not sure about the year out tho xxx I've had a look and you only need the three years if you need the extra 5points so i think I'm OK! Onwards and upwards!! FurryBear
Can anyone post a link to the ANMAC guidance on the content of references. People have referred to a suggested layout but I must be an idiot because I cannot find it

travelchic
Stop the clock lol. I was just going to ask you what type of nurse you are so I could help you. Be aware that the code for generic nursing can't be used if you're applying for state sponsorship. That's the info ANMAC gave me when I inquired anyway. FurryBear
I am a mental health nurse. My biggest headache at the moment is that because I am an old arse my nurse training was written on velum and there is no training transcript available. The NMC have therefore sent a copy of the 1982 syllabus that was in use at the time to ANMAC. I am hoping that the post graduate study I have done will be enough to convince ANMAC and AHPRA to give me a go
Hopeful
It did for me Furrybear, I am also a flo nightingale nurse, trained in 82- apparently no syllabus pre 1985. I did get full transcript of my post grad masters though- was a bit of a pain but got there in the end so good luck
Casz86
Hi, I was wondering if anyone can shed me some light ... I am an RN, with post reg experience both in the UK and Phil. I am planning to go for skilled migration under subclass 189. I would like to claim points for 3 years overseas experience. But just got in a bit of confusion as my post-reg nursing experience in the UK is only 1yr, 9mos (although if you would consider the period of supervised nursing practice, I would have 2 years, 4 months total). That is on top of 1 yr post-reg experience in the Philippines. So my question is....do I fall short for the 3-year overseas work experience requirement? Reading the guidelines, it says I needed "skilled employment in your nominated skilled occupation or a closely related skilled occupation". So....is working as a healthcare assistant (while on supervised nursing practice), for example, classed as a 'closely related profession?'. I have worked over 3 years in the healthcare industry in the UK, but only less than 2 years post-reg as a nurse. HELP!
