Stephen8986
G'day all!! moved to perth on 5th of February and it's been a whirlwind few months. I'm a welder to trade and my partners a hairdresser. Both in our mid 20s. After 2 weeks of being here I landed a 6 week shutdown job and my partner got a permanent job in a hair salon. My job was crazy hours 7 days a week but also crazy money which boosted the savings. While in this job I was still looking for jobs elsewhere as like I say it was only a 6 week job, fortunately with about 2 weeks left I landed a permanent job as an NDT technician. The job is great with a company car being one of it's best perks. We are staying with my girlfriends sister in Carramar and are managing to save a lot while there. We've made a few friends and are still adapting. Recently we put a deposit down on land in Yanchep golf estate and are just basically waiting on finance approval so fingers crossed. So far everything has went perfectly to plan but it's still early days! Perth itself hasn't disappointed, apart from the traffic everywhere. The infrastructure here is pretty shambolic for a place that is rapidly expanding. Yes it is expensive but in the right job you are well prepared for it financially. Beaches are breath taking my favourite being Mullalloo so far. I've been here and still haven't seen places like Fremantle yet but time is on my side. Weather has cooled down now, we arrived at end of summer but even that was enough to warn us what it's going to be like in peak summer but I still can't wait. Escaping the miserable Scottish weather was one of the big bonuses of this move so I can't complain. Finally......how on earth does that AFL work!? I just can't get into it!!
