sarah297
Hi everyone I had a successful telephone interview for a job in a hospital 4 weeks ago. I already have a PR visa and sent them required documents straight away. They told me the employment contract should take aweek to be processed. Two weeks had passed and still nothing. I sent an email and they replied saying the contract is still being processed. Can I ask if anyone has experience a similar situation and should I email them again? I will be arriving in perth early july;-) Many thanks in advance. Sarah297
dxboz
Hi Sarah was it a government hospital? The State government announced a recruitment freeze mid April. I would ring the hospital

Give me a break!
Neither myself or my OH received a contract until our first day of work. Have they actually given you a start date?
Jo & Co.
Everything takes a little longer how here. I wouldn't worry too much you'll get used to it ;0)

Hi Give me a break Yes they have given me a start date in August. Do you think I should email them again? Thanks for replying.
portlaunay
An August start date would likely mean your contract will arrive in January

Give me a break!
I wouldn't worry too much. A contract in itself feels good but in reality doesn't mean too much because technically it can be withdrawn at anytime anyway until you actually start working. So long as they've given you a firm start date and seem keen I wouldn't worry too much. Now I'm not a nurse so if its different in nursing hopefully someone will come along and say.
