Kck74
Hi All, We were just wondering about pollen levels as our youngest has started with hay fever. Levels are low this week as found on a weather website, but we can't seem to find a yearly forecast. Is Perth susceptible to high levels in the summer? Many thanks Kev n' Marie
portlaunay
I didn't suffer the first couple of years but last year was terrible in early summer. Easterlies blew for weeks dragging pollen from the Wheatbelt, tree pollen and dust to the coast and I was having a terrible time. It changed very quickly though and my hayfever disappeared as soon as the winds blew in from the Indian ocean and pushed it all back. Druid
I suffer from hay fever, it seems to be tree pollen, as I only suffer in the spring when trees are blossoming, once that is over it dies down, to answer your question, it's the same as the UK, as spring hits, the temperature increases and the growing season starts, the pollen levels ramp up with the temperature, when I was living SOR inland, we didn't really get wind, but here on the coast NOR it's great, as Porty says, when the wind is blowing inland it blows it all away. Kck74
Thanks for the replies! If it's the same as here then we'll only get the usual amount of blocked noses (poor lil' bugger) I think we're all dead set on living near the coast so that's a relief about the sea breeze. Many thanks Kev n' Marie

It cost a fortune over here, even OTC stuff, buy a lot of it in the UK and bring it with, you can get all the usual OTC medication here. Like porty said, it came and went pretty quickly. But this was our first year here so not sure what its like year on year.

No, Loratadine is readily available and in my experience a lot cheaper than the UK.
