Scot01
Blue skies, sunshine, 24 degrees, minimum of 13. Not bad for first few days of winter!

SJT
We arrived in winter last year and thought the weather was lovely. Today I'm wearing jeans and a long sleeved top, funny how quick you acclimatize.
Scot01
I remember seeing boots, coats and woolly jumpers in the shops and wondering when they would ever be worn! Still rarely wear a coat, but I do need to wrap up.
verystormy
It varies by person, I am still in shorts, t-shirt and thongs. But wife is on the sofa in a wooly jumps and a fur throw over her. But, I am from the NE of England lol.
Nikkis2000
If this is winter bring it on! Yep the mornings and evenings are chilly and I am wearing jeans but compare this to what an early December day would be like back in the UK!!! SJT
Nikkis that is what I told my son when he complained of it being cold. I had to point out that when the sun was shining in the UK during winter, that usually meant ice on the paths and roads in the morning and we would have to wear gloves, scarves and winter coats. Luckily we don't have that here just yet.

Lisa75
Its a little chilly some nights and first thing in the morning, but other than that its great weather. I still wear my shorts most days but got a proper t shirt on, no vest. My brother and family have lived here for 8 years and when they use to ring me telling me they are freezing at 20 I just to think they being stupid lol, but ohh boy it soon gets chilly. I was walking down to the shops yesterday with the sun out, birds...I was going to say tweeting but remembered they don't tweet here do they lol.... And I thought ... Ohh yes this is the life
Lou8670
We can't complain. We've been here 3 weeks and the weather has been lovely this week. It's the sort of weather you'd sit in the sunshine and enjoy a glass of wine or a beer and maybe a paddle in the sea. I've been swimming in the outdoor training pool and haven't felt cold at all. drhebden
BBQ weather in NE England....blue skies, sun and a barmy 18c. Summer has arrived so better not blink or I'll miss it! I've actually been sad enough to chart the monthly weather averages for Northern England v Perth and our peak maximum temp in July is only marginally better at 19c v Perths 18c. However Sunshine hours, despite our long days, are lower even through summer months - peaking just short of 6 hours a day through June and July. Broadly speaking I conclude the winter in Perth is equivalent to summer in NE England (excluding rainfall!)....bring on winter in Perth for me.... Peata Whyted
This is a great topic! I was sat in the sunshine on Sunday, the first day of winter in Perth and thinking ' this is equivalent to December in the uk ' yesterday my dash in the car read 28 degrees mid afternoon! Yep, it's cool in the morning and evenings (8 degrees or so) but it does feel like spring time in the uk, which I love! So my summary would be, winter in WA is not too far removed to spring / autumn in the uk, we have had a fair bit of rain over the last 5 weeks, but so has the uk. Rossmoyne
Been here 23 years..... night times can be chilly at times and we might put the heater on ... wear warm jammies and use a thick duvet and sometimes need a hot wheatbag... sometimes early mornings are so chilly that I put the heater on when I get up... but by 9am it is fine and I spend so much time outside. This week have been in shorts and tshirt in the garden.... today I went up the Hills to Kalamunda to the street market and it was a bit on the cool side and I wore jeans, a Tshirt and a jacket and scarf. Only once in the 23 years I have lived here have I had to clear ice from the car.... The first year we lived here we didn't even turn the heater on!!! But it is all subjective and how we all feel the cold and the heat......
verystormy
Just walked the dog early morning and still in shorts and t-shirt and even considered a dip
Akasully2
My boys crave the beach and think nothing of going for a dip. We went to Rockingham today for the first time. I wore shorts but I was freezing by the sea. I put my jeans on in the car and another jumper. We had fish and chips by the sea and I was still freezing but then the sun came out and I was roasting. I peeled off the layers and desperately wanted to put my shorts back on. I have come to the conclusion that layering is the answer!
elfie
This is our second winter I am fine by day still t shirt wearing but not shorts jeans or sweats although at night its a different matter. I guess I am halfway to being acclimatised. We recently purchased a gas fire and boy of an evening its lovely. Total waste of time putting it on though as the windows are drafty as hell but it does help. Double glazing who would have thought one could miss that ........... We are researching at the moment where to buy one for the new house. We are having a fireplace / chimney built in. But the fires themselves are incredibly expensive.
