oysterbay
Hi we are thinking that we wont use an agent so just wanted to double check we are doing this right. My hubby is wanting a 190. so we have booked Ielts then he will do a skills assessment for diesel mechanics , apply for state sponsorship, online skillset to get invitation to apply then visa application, medicals police check. is that the right order? thanks
nikkiwd
Hi, once you have the skills assessment and the IELTS done, and you have enough points with evidence to prove all points you are claiming ie work experience evidence etc. then you fill out your Expression of Interest and just wait for them to invite you to apply for state nomination, if granted they will then invite you to apply for the 190 visa. Police checks and medicals are done after you lodge the visa application, some people wait until case officer asks for them, some do them before case officer asks. good luck

The evidence for work experience , is that a letter from current and former employers confirming I have worked there. Or is it a specific form that needs signing? nikkiwd
yes employers letters, payslips, p60's, bank statements showing pay going into account, all work as evidence. My hubby's evidence going further back was a bit thin, only found a couple of payslips and wasn't able to get employers letters so just put in a statutory declaration explaining and we got the visa granted. For earlier employment history we gave everything we could find, which was loads!
Akasully2
For the work evidence references, I wrote to his old places of work and told them in exact detail what I needed from them. They had to cover a number of points in the letter,ie if full time, salary, dates, etc. You will find that clearly stated in the guide to completing the skills assessment form. We did I the visa ourselves. Long winded but do-able. Good luck.
