Tick Tock

God I started the whole process in February and only just got the skills assessment sent of (IELTS done and dusted) other than Reading Perth Poms a few times a day for updates and information. how did you keep yourselves from going stir crazy with the waiting ? Granted i am known for having no patience so maybe not that helpful when you dive into a process that plays one of the biggest waiting games ever..... As i am typing this i can feel the veins in my head throbbing :)

Tips please as this is only going to get worse the longer this goes on. Did you boycott PP and try to forget about the whole thing ? for me the more i read and watch about Perth the worse it gets.

I've excepted the waiting (My OH is slaving away over RPL forms for assessment as a software engineer) and I've tried to accept everything will happen when it's meant to. Even if we don't get a yes first time we'll keep at it til we do. I'm trying to enjoy the planning and uncertainty by viewing it as an adventure and watching programmed like Coast Australia and thinking "One day . . ."

just try to think as every day as being progress. Everyone has to go through it to get there and there are many ups and downs along the way. This is still early stages in some respects. So sit back and start thinking about the things you want to do in the UK before you leave, start getting rid of things, get the house ready for sale/rent. Be proactive. Once things are underway the time flies, and then there is panic at the end that there is so much to do and so little time left. Enjoy what you have at the moment, the future will happen. Good luck.

Yeah but you are a bit further ahead than me you have your practical assessment this month, out of intreast do all assessments for other areas/occupations have a practical assessment or is it a trade money making thing?

If it's any consolation it's freezing here at the moment. Last night was the coldest of the year in the city at 2deg and tonight it's dropped just a degree warmer.

I think all skills (licensed trades) plumbers, sparks, welders us etc need to do a skills assessment

Wouldn't be as bad but then you have to out there with un recognised qualifications and experience and take a year out to re sit your OZ licences etc and/or start on a lower wage!

hey ho its all part of the fun eh! at least we have a much required select skill which will always be in demand so no major worries although it will feel a bit odd being unemployed

I will let you knoww my IELTS results this time next week and how the skills assessment goes the week after .

When I was waiting for the next stage to arrive I was up at 4am every morning checking emails. Strange thing was the day that the Grant email came through I slept until 7 am and woke sort of knowing it had come before I checked.

To help with the waiting I saw every day that passed as 1 day closer to moving to Oz!

Okay calm. Advise to anybody that is doing this try to find out the dates of the assessments so when you are gathering information you can plan for the assessments.. So long as Vettassess do their bit in a timely manor..... Scrub that....... JUST GET USED TO WAITING :)

just a thought would it be an idea to contact north London college of vetassess direct to see when the next course is?

Agents never seem to be in much of a rush even with your £2/3k!

I keep busy, we're mega stressed at work at the minute so it's kind of a blessing. I'm only at skills assessment stage I sent it off on the 16th and states can take up to 14 weeks so I'm waiting for that then it's visa time .. I also find taking each day as a step closer to the goal helps ...I've also occupied my time by gathering the evidence for visa I.e birth Certs ... Bank statements etc but doing it really slowly ... I've also been up dating my portfolio... So like putting in certificates and things so I can show my employer when I get there .... And I've also been slowly de cluttering the house I know I'm being hasty but it's all helping me to cope xxx
