cutchibear
Hi all! My husband and I have often gone on the Poms in Oz site for advice and I've just noticed this site recommended....as we hold WA permanent residency visas it makes sense to come on here and meet the Perth gang! Husband and I got our visas a couple of years ago (state sponsored) and activated them in Dec 2012...fabulous (albeit brief) trip to WA and touring different areas...at the time we had planned to move out the following summer, but little did we know we had a little boy cooking in my belly! So, now our son is 9 months and we are trying to get things in motion for a move next year. Our house is now up for sale but we understand this could take a while. Just wanted to come on the boards, say hello and hopefully get to know lots of you whilst we track our big move down under! No doubt I'll be pestering for advice along the way! portlaunay
Hey Laura, welcome to PP and congratulations on the new(ish) member of the family. 2014 has seen a lot of PP'ers move over so far but now that you've joined the gang maybe you can make 2015 even better. PP is always here to help so welcome to the family.
cutchibear
thanks port I see you're in Fremantle - we had a couple of more relaxing trips out there during our trip....we adored wandering around the shops, market, sitting out having a glass of vino.....I remember one bar that served a range of different beers/ales, lovely lounging areas to sit....can't remember the name of the place, but whilst sat there, we definitely had one of those moments 'yup,we could live here!' There are a few bars like that; Sail and Anchor, Little Creatures, The Monk, it doesn't matter, Freo is a pretty unique and special place and we love it. There's a tiki bar now that has the most amazing collection of rums too so I am never leaving here!

EmsyEss
Hi laura! Welcome to PP. I'm also new to the site and moving to Perth in October 2014 with my husband and my girls. I have a 9 month old too and a 2 year old. We also have permanent residency state sponsored visas for WA. We've gone through a lot of the planning stages already like shipping containers and finding temp accommodation so let me know if you need any advice, especially when it comes to travelling with a baby as I've already done a lot of that with my two :-) lots to consider with a move when you have children!
