Hi all

A few of us are planning to meet up at the end of June at Heathcote Park in Applecross, also locally known as the Pirate Park as there is a huge pirate ship for the kids. It's a free park with fantastic 180 degree views of the river and CBD, there's a museum, parking, BBQ area, toilets, benches and a great little cafe serving coffees, ice-creams and fish and chips.

I would suggest meeting at 11:30am on Sunday 29 June unless everyone prefers a different date/time.

I believe the nearest train station is not far at Canning Bridge.

Here's a partial pic of the kids play area...it's much bigger than this and is enough to keep the under 12's occupied for a good few hours

Everyone is welcome!

Enjoy the meetup guys... it is a great park to keep youngsters happy, and the views for parents are pretty amazing. Cafe is a bit average though, so I suggest you take a picnic or barbeque stuff with you. Would love to meet up with you all, but have "Surrogate Grandma" duties in the diary that day. Enjoy the meetup though!! Rossy

Shame Rossy, but yeah the cafe is okay, the fish and chips looked good but the service was a bit slow last time we went. But, hey, we didn't go there for the food; just some down time whilst the kids were occupied playing, and to enjoy the view! This time it'll be in great company
