Druid
Is there something the same in Perth? F1 is aired on the free to air terrestrial channels, either 1 or 10, we have FoxSports over here but they do not hold the rights to F1, only problem here is the F1's are all televised live, and very rarely run repeats in the more sociable hours, given the time difference between Aus and most of the venues it pays to have a good DVR. <Dan>
Thanks for the info. Im trying to work out costs etc to plan ahead as its only 5 months now till we arrive. So trying to find out what sort of Foxtel Package will show the races. I assume (looking at the website) they have record and rewind etc like in the UK. Druid
Foxtel is almost identical to Sky, even the remote is identical, so whatever you can get with sky you can get with Foxtel, we have a Foxtel IQHD DVR, which does all the usual, pause, rewind and record, you can get multi room with a another box and a fee of course
Admin
As Druid points out, although you can get foxtel and the packages/boxes/features are virtually the same as Sky, with regards to your F1 query, then foxtel may not come into the equation. F1 is on a Free to Air Channel - Channel 10 or ONE. As long as you've a TV aerial, then you'll receive and be able to watch these channels for free without any extra equipment/boxes. If you want to record/timeshift F1, then you'll only be able to use a Foxtel IQHD to do this if you're receiving Foxtel via Cable as opposed to Satellite. This is due to some bizarre licensing arrangements between the FTA channels and foxtel (shown in the table below). It will be dependant on your suburb/address with regards to how you would receive Foxtel. (Cable or Satellite). As Druid mentions above, you can get a Freeview PVR which will allow you to record the FTA channels if necessary.
