what clothes to pack for October?

So, not at all excited about our visit in 16 weeks (haha!) but was looking at average temps for October and as far as I can see its low of 11 and high of 22?? SJT told me ages ago to pack for a med holiday ie shorts etc in the day but cardi/fleece for evenings. This is really useful advice so can anyone add to it? It's gorgeous weather here now and all the holiday stuff is on sale now so wondering if I should stock up on shorts/vests for us all or will we need warmer attire??

TIA,

J xx

Morning Bean

I also remember wearing my jeans that I had worn on my flight over, sometimes during the day, but then last Oct, some days it hit 35, which was quite unusual. Even now in the middle of winter, you still see people wearing shorts, but with jumpers as well. I remember last Oct wearing three quarter length white trousers and light weight tops, and on some days wearing shorts. A real mix, I know not much help when packing, but definitely make sure you have a few warm things, not lots. and definitely not for a ski trip, but light weight jumpers, so you can maybe layer. That time is going to whizz by.

Spring / Summer came late last October. We arrived for our reccie mid October and it rained the first week and felt like an English summer but it brightened up the second week and I remember one day it was 35 degrees. So pack for all eventualities! But mainly a British / Mediterranean summer

Beany, I always bring the wrong clothes as you think warm , summer clothes then look out of place , british long sleeves are so much thicker .Look now for stuff , cotton and layer as someone else has said , as you leave the house then start sweating, hair goes frizzy etc etc. not as easy as it seems.

But 16 weeks will go so quick !!!!

We are in shorts today in the middle of winter and I am Australian. My OH (nut nudger) is english and still lives in his. I would say bring over one set of 'warm' clothes just in case but shorts and tee's would suffice. Depends on if you feel the cold.

We live in Cumbria where it's mostly blowing a gale, pouring with rain and temps of less than 11 degrees so I guess we will find it tropical :)

shorts and vests ahoy with a couple of hoodies thrown in then xx

Nikki, we started at the same but I got to the 1000 club before you! OMG you don't know what is in store for you. They give you the keys to the club and it is free style from there. Did you see what Rob did with the squirt cream? Well, it was all due to the excitement of the 1000 club and beyond! X

Note to self: Avoid writing witty comments whilst drinking in the garden with my hubby. Sounds too risqué in the cold light of day! :ssign7:
