Guest Suki
Hello ! Does anyone know if Perth has racial issues like Melbourne? I am considering emigration but this would influence my decision as am British Asian.I believe my sister had some bad experiences but this was 15 years ago. Also this may seem like a strange question but how is the Chinese food out there? I do love a good chinese! Thankyou for any info Suki
ali
I'm not aware of any major issues, but that might very well be because I'm in my own little bubble. Chines food seems good, but I'm no expert.
verystormy
There are less non white people than the UK (though we lived in Leicester) but I have not heard or witnessed much. There some idiots, the same as any where, but generally people don't care about your colour.
portlaunay
Tell me about a city that doesn't have 'racial issues'? There are hateful, ignorant, unintelligent people everywhere. Generally speaking I've not experienced a culture of political correctness like there is in the UK and I find that quite refreshing. There's certainly a greater openness; people seem to be far more comfortable describing their perspectives and I think this is a good thing, it provides opportunity for discussion and challenge to what might be disagreeable beliefs. In London people would meander around a tortuous path in trying to describe something or someone for fear of causing offence.
