Hello and HELP!

We are starting out emigration journey after 4yrs of dreaming but it's all so daunting! I'm a nurse with 3yrs experience in acute/critical care in Neurosciences (educated to Diploma level). My husband is a Construction Site manager (no qualifications held in the industry). We have 2 young children (7yrs+1yr) and we have wanted to emigrate for many years. We're both well travelled; he's lived in Australia for a year whilst I travelled the world as cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic. I trained as a nurse primarily for entry to Australia. I've printed off my AHPRA forms but now feel a bit like a rabbit in the headlights. Do I start applying for jobs? Will we get in or do I need to be educated to degree level? Do we go via an agency? We know 100% that we want to move to Perth.

Any advice welcome!

thanks

If you ask these questions of a visa company you will get the answers you need and you won't have to commit to them.

We asked visa bureau what seems like about 300 questions before registering with them and it cost us nothing.

We're close to submitting skill select having already done IELTS twice.

Good luck

Gareth

Hi, and congrats on deciding to make the move! Like you both we've travelled a lot but emigrating is such a different and daunting step. We are moving out in October this year with a 1 year old and 2.5 year old :-) I was pregnant with my first daughter when we started the emigration process and my husband was working long hours so we decided to go through the agent. Although expensive their expertise and assistance was amazing! If I think back to every phone call and email we sent and received it was definitely worth the money. As others have said it's worth calling them and having a chat to get some of your questions answered. We went through visa bureau and although more expensive than other agents they were brilliant. Our case manager was Caroline and she was amazing! Good luck :-)

Hi Nurselucy I know you posted back in June but I've just noticed this and saw that you were Virgin crew. So am I! Still there at the mo but my husband is moving out in January so I'll be handing in my notice at some point soon after that. We've got 2 kids aged 9 and 10. Would love it if you kept us updated with your progress, it would be nice to share stories, both airline related and otherwise!

Hello!

Congrats in making the decision! I'm not sure where you are in the UK but if your near London, there is an EXPO there in march (working in events).

inwent to one a few years back in Leeds which helped us massively as their where agents there to talk to, we spoke a number of times with migration planners who were helpful and answered all questions. Since then we went our own way and have done everything outsells which has been very long winded. My hubby has 15 years experience as a chef but the qualification he held didn't compare so we had to pay to get an australian qualification equivalent which took a while but has been granted!

We we visited another EXPO in manchester last weekend for the main info on banks, movers etc and there were a few nursing stalls, one of which was a Western Australia government stall for nurses/doctors who help with visa sponsorship and information, other were nurse agency's as well as a few agents who were giving out advise, migration planners were there again along with Santa fee who seemed very popular... May be worth while contacting for a chat and see what they advise maybe?
