zoe1922
Hi, I'm looking for some advice about mobile phone contracts in WA. We want to sell our UK mobile phones and all get contracts (including a nice shiny new phone!) when we arrive in Oz at the end of August. I am wondering if anyone has any experience of getting a contract with no credit history? Also, can anyone recommend a good contract at a reasonable price and where within Perth/surrounding suburbs to go and get this from? The kids use theirs more than us (both teenagers) and will probably use more internet and texts than us. Thanks
portlaunay
It's exactly the same here as anywhere and difficult to favour one over another. All I would say is that Vodafone seem consistently terrible. I instantly know when I'm talking to someone on Vodafone because the reception is awful. I managed to get a contract with Virgin after being here a couple of months but I had to open a vein and provide 10 generations of DNA sampling to qualify. Nic964
Likewise I went with Virgin within a month or so of arriving. AS long as I had some photo ID, a bank maccount and some form confirmation of address (bank statement letter etc) then we had no issues. Here they tend to assume a good credit history to start with, and its up to you to disprove it. Although a nice phone is great, we went initially with BYO (bring your own) phone, so the price was cheaper. I"ve had no issues at all.
