Phantasm139
A quick question with regards renting a property, generally how are landlords with letting you put up a few pictures here and there within the house? Thanks
steven_gers
I have no clue, but I'd be very surprised if it was a problem, At the end of the tenancy I'd expect the holes left by the picture hooks to be filed and painted. Job done.
ali
My friends rental did not allow things to be hung or stuck on walls.
travelchic
I've just signed my rental agreement and we're allowed to use sticky hooks. They're not goons hold much are they. A tea towel maybe? Debs
verystormy
Don't do it. You will be charged for filling in the hole and painting. Bye bye bond.
nikkiwd
We just signed a lease that said strictly no hooks or holes to be put in any walls and not even the sticky hooks either.
abc
Put yourselves in the landlords position, would you want lots of random holes in your walls? Probably not!

Debs debs if you go to bunnings the stick hooks your on about have a weight recommendation on the back of pack obviously they wont hold huge weight but pictures usually fine and clocks again depending on weight
Nikkis2000
We're in a slightly different position as we're renting from a family member. But we agreed where we could put some hooks up, and we'll leave them there so future tenants can use them. Not sure why most landlords just don't do that. Say yes you can hang stuff but only in these places. Nobody likes living with bare walls!
Druid
We were renting with Ray White, we asked the question, they put it to the landlord & the answer was fine, but when you leave you have to put it back the way it was, ie hole filled & painted over, we decided not to bother & lived in a sparse house for two years
portlaunay
We asked to fit picture rails as there is one already but it's just in one room. I'm going to put the same thing up in three other rooms and have agreed with the owners that this is at my cost and they'll stay when we leave. Phantasm139
Cheers peeps, Were renting our house out here and i personally don't have any problems with our tenants hanging a few pics up as long as they fill them in at the end of the tenancy. Oh well, never mind.
Lou8670
Trouble is it's not just the filling and painting over the hole. Usually the whole wall needs a repaint. The only solution is to agree with the landlord if and where a permanent hook or rail can go and then it's left in situ for the next tenants. Deb
We got 3 hooks up in the house so we are going to just change pictures around.

The only solution is to agree with the landlord if and where a permanent hook or rail can go and then it's left in situ for the next tenants. The house we are renting at the moment has patchy walls where the previous tenant has hung pictures, then filled & patched up the paint, we can't wait until we move into our nice new house
