PDM
Hi, arriving in Perth in September and looking into Short term car leasing. Can anyone recommend a local company or any suggestions about getting a car sorted out without having buy straight away?
dxboz
I thnk these are the cheapest around for car rental - have used them before https://www.bayswatercarrental.com.au/sydney/price-comparison?gclid=CPvqkIWKoL8CFVcnvQodgAUAjQ
verystormy
Agree with the above. Bayswater are excellent and cheap.
PDM
That looks great, thanks for that. Cheaper than a lot of the sites we've been looking at. Was looking at a hire car for the first week or so, and then maybe looking at a 6 month lease car as not sure we'd want buy straight off the boat( well, plane). Struggling to find lease hire companies other than business/corporate. Any ideas?
subbers
First time post here, but I thought I would start with a topic I at least have some experience in and hope its still relevant give the dates on the thread. I had to get a vehicle four about 3 -4 months when I first go over here and spent a great deal of time hunting around for places that actually offer long term car rental and while bayswater does have good prices they don't really do long term rates. Heres a few companies I discovered during my research that actually state they do discount for long term hires : Perth car leasing , there site is just for long term renting, Cottesloe car and ute hire , These where the guys i went with in the end since they there excess was better then the others, Northside car rentals , they seem pretty good with the price, excess was just a bit higher probably could of argued it down but couldn't be bothered. Sunset car hire , the owner was nice enough but the price just wasn't there but I think its because he just really hires to tourists. my best recommendation is make them an offer or try and push for a good deal and you should come out on top. Also make sure you check what insurance is included since this is where they tend to get you.

annjean
Why not buy a cheap car off gumtree and when the time comes to buy a new one you could trade it in and get about $4,000 trade in, just a thought.
