portlaunay
They have a very good reputation on the east coast and we were going to go with them before Mrs p's company offered to pay for our iiNet package.
nikkiwd
not heard about them, sorry. we just went with iinet, got a bundle with phone (cheap uk calls), broadband and Fetch tv for $79 per month which I thought was pretty good. have you looked at them, maybe they do a broadband only option? I know what you mean with the mobile internet, we had a telstra one and we went through $30 in a week so had to stop skyping.

Now we have our own house, might be time to check out the market. we don't need much. We are out and about most of the time, just the Sunday teatime Skype back home:biggrin: . but I'm one of those, once Ive got used to my mobile no, I don't want to let it go

Druid
Hi Deb, have a look at Vivid Wireless it's still 4G on a PAYG, you can go to Dick Smith and buy either a Home Gateway or a Vivify, the Vivify is great it's a small device that is rechargable, it's not a dongle, you can connect up to 5 devices to it at any time, if you want internet on the go you can put it in your pocket with it switched on and you get internet on your phone or I pad on the move, I think I'm paying $70 for 50 gig, but just check to make sure you have coverage in Rockingham, when we lived there we had to put the device in the garden to get coverage
SJT
Hi Deb We are with TPG and its good, especially considering I have three kids who all use the internet for games, films and chatting to friends, and I watch I player and ITV. We did find though that the router they gave us was useless, it kept dropping the signal, we so we brought our own one, and it has never dropped out since. Druid
They just came back to us can not do It as we have got too much copper in the area We had the same problem with IINET, they signed us for 12 months, disconnected our Telstra phone line, changed us over to IINET phone, delivered us a wifi modem, took the connection fee and then monthly fees for internet we did not have & a phone line we did not need or want, then it took me six months of sheer frustration to get all my money back, now you see why I recommend vivid, it's painless, hassle free and a lot cheaper than most of the providers. I think we pay $70 month, that gives us 50gig, that's 4 adults on phones, computers & iPads, using Skype as well the most we have ever used is about 35 gig, the 23yo daughter downloads movies as well, the only draw back is it's slow when my son tried to do online gaming on the Xbox, he doesn't bother anymore, it's plenty quick enough for the rest of us, oh and we have the Foxtel box connected to it for online movies as well, I think if you compare what you have with your dongle to vivid, you will find it's much cheaper, I think the vivid unlimited package is only $80 a month, that's $80 a month VS 50$ a week and if you buy your own equipment it's contract free, we have the home gateway now, it's more of your traditional router, but we still have the vivify personal hotspot as a just in case, Vodafone & Telstra are a rip off when it comes to 4g internet, all the smaller providers are not worth bothering with and unless you can get ADSL2 or ADSL+ which I doubt you will as most of Rockingham is still on copper as you have found out it's going to be slow anyway, like the old UK dial up service, Perth is backward about 10 years when it comes to the internet & infrastructure, by the time the NBN is here it too will be obsolete. Hi Nikki, was this bundle with a landline phone as I've seen on another post you got mobile PAYG for $30 p/m? How is the service going and whereabouts did you get this deal? What is fetch tv. Would a decent PAYG mobile deal allow you to make cheap calls back home a few times a month? Also can you have internet in oz without having a landline, sounds a daft question but where we live in UK you can't have internet unless you have a landline, which we don't we just have a dongle with Three which works well for us.
