The RBA have just announced that the cash rate will remain at 2.5% following today's meeting.

See here for the official media release: http://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2014/mr-14-11.html

Dear Andrew

We are wondering if it's a good idea to open an investment account in australia before we move. Our ISA here in the UK is worthless, and we are getting nothing from it.

Is there any type of investment you suggest? Something like ISA or other types?

Thanks for your help

Hi

Unfortunately I cannot give advice like this over a forum especially given the lack of information I have about you and your financial circumstances including your goals and objectives amongst other things.

If you are looking to invest the money long term then it may be an option but I would have to follow a strict advice process to be able to assist.

If you are looking to have access to the funds in the short term then perhaps investigate savings account/term deposits, maybe a chat to NAB via their sub-forum on here.

Kind regards

Andy
