stu4668
I hope so Nikki, these goodbyes are not nice, we are landing in Perth at 00:55 hours on Sunday morning and heading to Curramabine where we have a 3 month rental.
nikkiwd
Currambine is good, close to beach and Joondalup and has a train station. be prepared for the jet lag though, it takes a few days to get over.

Nikkis2000
Have a good flight Stu and hard as it is, cherish these last few hours! We'll see you on the sunnier, if slightly chilly side!

portlaunay
I had about 45kg's in hand luggage! I'm not joking. The kids had their own bags with pens, paper, playdough, origami type things, games, pillows, lollies, slippers, plush toys, the list goes on. I had three laptops and more electronics than the large hadron collider. When they passed my bag through the x-ray machine the combination of electro-magnetic radiation and massive computing power momentarily created The Matrix. We flew with Singapore though so I don't know if it made a difference but they really didn't seem to care. Act casual and no matter how dislocated your shoulder is just grin, toss the bag around like it's full of marshmallows and never let the trolley dolly's near it. Lou8670
Stu...I'm sure you've seen my post in another thread...shopping bags...ikea are the best...they don't count towards your cabin allowance apparently

Yeah! Matt tossed Isabel's cabin case, which was overflowing with documents I refused to let out of my site and our rather hefty 20" laptop, in the air with his little finger as if it was full of feathers when the check in staff asked if it was heavy. He said, "No, it's just got a few teddies in it and a jumper for the flight!" And they didn't bother weighing it
nikkiwd
singapore just asked to see the hand luggage bags but didn't weigh any of them

sunflower
I flew a zillion times, not even once they weighed my carry on! If you have a cabin size carry on, they mostly just have a look at it. Noone has the time to weigh those things. Then again, if the guys at the counter are bored or over -enthusiastic, you never know.

Maybe they took a bit more interest in us because there were 5 of us, 5 30kg check bags, 2 full car seats and 5 cabin bags and we had a trainee checking us in!!! Nancy
Paul's hand luggage was weighed when he flew from Glasgow, but mine wasn't going out from heathrow. I though you were only allowed one bag but someone on the flight told me a handbag isn't included in your hand luggage so could have took more. Scot01
You're allowed a carry on bag as well as a handbag or laptop bag or briefcase, make sure it is large handbag and put heavy things in it.
stu4668
Emirates did weigh the hand luggage and we're very strict on the 7kg max. Consequently we had to rearrange luggage and put additional cases in the hold. Sat in Dubai now waiting for the connection
