Feel at a bit of a stand still!!

I think what's happened, is we made the decision after 6yrs of thinking about it. So then got excited and started researching places and areas we could end up.

we researched job opportunities, what visa would suit best etc, then all the things we needed to do for our visa. I've sent off for my verification of registration, and booking ILETS for 20th September. And so now until that's done it's all gone a bit quiet.

or am I missing something I could be doing? Can I start skills assessment process before doing ILETS? (For nursing) or is this it now till September then it all kicks off again once skills assessment process can start?

i think because it was all a bit of a whirl wind to start with, with forms and applications etc it seems to have all died down. I suppose if my visa gets granted it'll all become a whirl wind again!

I'd concentrate on doing lots of practice for your IELTS and start gathering all the documents you'll need for your skills assessment and visa application. September will be here in no time and you'll want to make sure you get the results you need so practice, practice, practice

Great thanks guys,

I soon found that the booking of the IELTS isn't as straight forward as I thought! Why haven't I learnt this yet lol! So am in the process of downloading and completing my application form. Maybe Ashlen you can help on a question I just asked. I think I have the answer after reading the FAQs and candidate booklet. But is the organisation the Australian department of immigration and border protection? And the test needed the General training one?

Good luck on getting your results by the way. I will start practising and researching questions tomorrow when my oldest is in nursery. x

I sent off for it on Thursday or Friday of last week, so I'll let you know when it arrives.

I did start to get all my evidence together using the ANMAC FAQs then it said once skills ax completed you get an email of the evidence required, so I thought i'll sort everything else first, but think i'll carry on collecting evidence.

Only thing I can't get is references as I haven't told my employers yet what i'm planning. I'm on mat leave so waiting for my return to work meeting to discuss my plans.

hi immilbees,

scott passed the ielts test a while back :-) we are waiting for the tax office to give us 8 years worth of p60 information, then we can get all the documents signed by a solicitor and send it off to visa bureau, then skills assessment for scott, however today, visa bureau told us that they have 5 years worth of p60s which is enough for the skills assessment !! woohoo !! so im going to sort out the documents for solicitor tomorrow :-))

Wow 8 years worth! I'm glad 5 is enough, that's good for you. So you're almost at visa application stage? I have contacted my uni for a copy of my transcript, I can't complete skills assessment until my IELTS is done, but i'm going to start gathering the information needed, were you charged to get P60 info?

I have been at a standstill for years, so things are getting closer but still a good 12-14 months away...

I am also sitting IELTS on the 20th so lets hope we both pass first time round. I need to do academic and will be needing 20 points, so level 8 for me :-(

I will hopefully be getting my ID certified around September too and my transcript for Uni. I am going to apply for AHPRA in Sept and ANMAC in December.

Seems so scary now those dates are getting closer!

The standstill and the waiting only gets worse, good job i have no hair or i would have pulled it all out by now. i keep getting told good things come tho those who wait and all that rubbish but i swear i will £$%*&&&. Anyway the weekly waiting rant over until next week.

People deal with it differently me.... i hate it ... :) I am the sort of person once their mind is made up and settled on that idea i seem to be living a half life or a fake sort of life as no one can know at the moment as i run my own company and it could effect the sale / price if it gets out too early.

Good this whole process is driving me really nutz i can feel the rants building again:)

Okay back in the room...... just a thought does the medical test for state of mental health :)

Hope your waiting experience is better than mine or if your really lucky and have the will of what ever god you pray to on your side it could be like Gareth ( Lucky Git) as i now know him as.......

I need to do the academic one too, what test center are you doing it at? I know there's loads, but major coincidence if it's the same one, I'm going to canterbury.

I am going to do my skills assessment as soon as I have IELTS passed, so I'm working on gathering evidence for now, I have my uni transcript, and am still waiting for NMC to send me the application for verification of registration. (I got an email 4 days ago saying it was in the post!), I haven't told work yet so can't get references just yet. ANMAC email you with the rest of the details they need. I am going to phone a few solicitors tomorrow to get an idea how much it will cost for them to sign and verify everything.

Then I am going to apply to AHPRA, though i'm not holding out much hope for them at the moment as I am diploma trained, so i'll probably work as a care assistant and see about a bridging course.

JasonM what work are you in? It's hard having to keep quiet, I haven't told my friend of over 20yrs what we are planning, as she is married to a colleague of my husband, and we can't risk his work finding out before we are ready.
