ImmilBees
Just wanted to say really, I looked on the website and it said they are taking applications to review in October so I thought.. Why not! The only thing is most of the episodes we watch, there's always someone who has to convince the other it's a good idea, but on my application I said we're both happy with the decison, so I don't think we'll be interesting enough... as everyone loves a sob story, will they won't they. But if we do get picked it'll be a free reccie trip!!

jac2011
I have applied this last 3 years, sent an app last week too, it only takes a few minutes. However, on there FB page they said they haven't confirmed whether they will be doing a new series AHHHH
ImmilBees
Well it was me that was unsure at first but since applying I have done a U turn and 100% for it. I did put that I was only 80% sure in the application, and that I wouldn't want to leave my 92 year old Nan, especially as my first trip back to the UK would probably be for her funeral!! I think that might be dark enough lol I'll let you all know if I hear anything. jac2011 i'm sure they will or the option to apply on the BBC website wouldn't be there, i'd of thought anyway. Keith
My wife and I watch it every day, we have loads on the planner and watch them even if there from years ago, better than watching some of the drivel that's on the box at the moment! cocolevi
I've got loads to catch up on seen most of them before but now I know a bit more about Perth it's nice to actually see some of the places instead of being names on map x
Hopeful
We applied 2 and a half years ago, got a call taking us through to the next stage but as soon as I said we hadn't started the visa process and I was 18months off being 50 they told me we would not get a visa in time to get us there so could not take us on the show- how I wish I could let them know a year later I was offered a job and now have PR and we did it within 6 months!! no1mum
Hi, we were on the show aired in uk in Jan. this year, and have recently done the revisited for show in uk next Feb. It is quite a process, and we already had our visas and actually had been to activate, but could not decide whether we could leave one or both adult sons behind (as not on our visas). It is a long process of telephone interviews initially, and then if you are lucky to get to next stage it is about one to two hours of being interviewed with a camera, telling your story. Then its the waiting game. We were told in January that we were not shortlisted from the final 40 to the final 20, however, 8 weeks later we got the call to say could we fly out in 4 weeks!! It is really hard work, they film you for 4 days in uk and about 10 mins of show is equivalent of 10 hours of filming!!! Once in oz, you don't get a holiday, it was 5 days of filming often leaving home at 6.30/7am and getting home 12hours later. We could not extend our one week experience as we had actually booked a holiday when they said we were not on the show, so had to be home to fly out for that. It really helped us with our decision making, but do not think it is a doddle, they are brilliant crew, but really quite an experience. Good luck though, and just remember to tell the truth as they ask you the same thing so many times, if you are untruthful it will come out lol. ImmilBees
Thanks for that. Really interesting. We know that it's not easy as we've read up on it before, and it said then it's quite greulling. We are on the way to apply for visa, I put on the application I was worried about leaving family, and although that's still true I'm coming round more. I don't feel we have enough of a sob story to be honest, no offence intended, but nearly always the family are having to leave someone behind or one wants to go and is trying to convince the other who doesn't. So I take it for revisited you're in Oz?? What's your last name I'll look out for you! If we are successful, we are hoping to book an extra week and stay with family. Do they let you do that? ImmilBees
Are you the family from Essex? 2 sons and a daughter? One son married the other a hair dresser with a long term girlfriend? If so we watched the repeat of that one the day! X
no1mum
Hi yep they do let you extend your stay, subject to the flight not costing anymore than if you flew straight back. however, once filming schedule is over u are on your own, they basically take the sat nav back and its down to u to take car back etc. luckily for us we were not wet behind the ears, but could have been scary. That being said the office team are really brilliant, we had loads of emails to and fro sorting out return dates, as we could only extend by 24 hours as we had other commitments, but they did work hard to accommodate us. Re your additional question, yes you found us, may want to watch the revisit show as soooo much happened lol. Good luck with it all, I don't regret applying, as we genuinely needed help with decision making as we had NO ONE over here and no one to guide us or ask, so was a completely blind decision. Stay in touch would be good to hear how it goes for you. Thanks for that. Really interesting. We know that it's not easy as we've read up on it before, and it said then it's quite greulling.
