steven_gers
Yeah I know @7cdb! It's a funny feeling being granted the visa, as the spouse visa is 8-9 months wait, as waiting for it to be granted was like xmas coming, Now I've got the apprehension of moving over, it's a mixture of excitement and like WTF? I would prefer to go 2morro but the wife gets awesome flight rates for January.

I hope Keith nailed it today, I really do, I feel sorry for you guys having to go through that blasted test, when in my opinion its not necessary, give him and length of copper pipe and I'd bet he'd be able to bend it into a figure of 8! The wait continues for the test results again. Fingers crossed

verystormy
That's a good deal! If you want any tips on Dubai airport let me know - I have spent a LOT of time there as it was the transit point in my last job.

Surely would love some tips, it's a big airport, very relaxed every time I've been, like the customs guys are in no rush when stamping your passport. verystormy
These are a few: They are prone to changing gates at the last minute, so factor it in. Nearly caught me a few times You can pay to use the maharaba lounge. It's not as good as the business lounge but comfortable to sit and have a complimentary drink or three. Don't by electronics or things as they are very expensive. Much more than you pay in Oz. Do buy booze (and smokes if you are a smoker) as both are expensive here. Works out about half price on spirits. Check terminals as it is a long way between and sometimes the train doesn't run If you are a smoker, the Irish bar is the best place to grab one Women's cosmetics can be good value - my wife has had me pick up face creams and things. If your not already, then join the emirates loyalty program.
steven_gers
Thanks VS, Not a smoker, but I do like a little drink now and then, My wife is a wedding makeup and hair stylist so she'll no doubt love this advice.

We did think about going in November but the xmas and year wages are really good at BG so we decided to stay put till January and plus the training centres close down for the xmas and new year period. I hope the results are good this time round for yoy so you can just plan the next stage.
