steven_gers
Remember peeps this is just my opinion! So I've signed up for moneycorp, torfx and yesterday hifx, Moneycorp was nice and easy and pretty similar to HiFx in terms of online setup etc, TorFx is a bit more dated in the way you transfer money, setup an account then, get an account manager transfer money from your bank to their holding bank then they take over, Moneycorp rate wasnt the best and also a transfer fee/processing fee, spoke to the agent after the constant phone calls asking when I'll transfer more, I told them I get a better rate with Torfx to then be told we could have matched them if I had phoned, defeats the purpose of doing an online transfer. HiFx, online setup nice and easy, no pestering phone calls, online transfers with No fees and no commission apparently was easy, punch in how much you want to buy, get a live rate that updates "live".. the rate was 1cent higher than TorFx but nearly 3cent higher than moneycorp, not a massive amount but it adds up when you are transferring a few thousand at a time. So my preference is defo HiFx, but again its my opinion.
wild rose
Thanks for sharing your experience. We'll be wanting to transfer in a few months so have made a note x
steven_gers
I've recently changed whom I transfer my money with due to the rates being lower than what I expected, I found a new company called Ozforex brilliant transfer and spoke to the chap on on the phone and asked if there rates are higher for new customers against existing? He stated no there rates only change as the interbank rate changes, The transfer fee is a flat $7 Also you transfer your UK £ to there barclays bank and then they transfer that money to there Oz bank account (westpac) then they transfer on to your Oz account which means no receiving Transfer Fee, Also the rate is around 2cents higher than Hifx and moneycorp although moneycorp have stated they would match any rate found higher,

Guest Guest6235
Yep the phone calls definitely pi@@ me off and from ANZ. I thought Moneycorp didn't charge a fee.
steven_gers
Apparently they don't if u mention you are PP or PiO member, there online transfer system states a transfer fee is payable, But I think moneycorp have just changed their transfer policy similar to Ozforex/ukforex

Guest Guest6235
Hi John, does this also include not paying the bank charge such as ANZ's $15 for each transfer. Thanks
John From Moneycorp
Hi Keefo - do you mean the transfer fee/cost applied when sending money overseas? This would be waived when using our service. Thanks John
Guest Guest6235
No I mean the amount the bank charge for receiving the money. I spoke to someone at ANZ earlier and I asked if I use a company such as yourselves how much do they charge and they said $15.
John From Moneycorp
Typically, when we send money to a NAB account for example, there would be no charge - Moneycorp try and absorb the receiving bank charge however sometimes this not in our control with other banks. Guest Guest6235
OK, Thanks for replying John. Another quickie, do you charge if the amount being transferred is less than £3k. We were going to transfer a small amount to make sure things went smoothly then a larger amount after that. gar374
No response to this, that's not a good sign. I'm investigating the money transfer side at the minute, so and answer to the above would have helped.
