Guest Suki
Thinking of making a trip to WA to see if we could see ourselves there over the New Year.Any suggestions please on how to plan a 2 week trip with a 5 year old and Husband?Any must see highlights? Also do you enjoy Perth and why?Am considering life in Australia because working for the NHS becoming too much of a political football and also too difficult with budget cuts.Son in a good school here though and live in a beautiful part of Northern England, several push pull factors, struggling to make up mind!Any help gratefully received thankyou Suki
ali
There are a few threads on here about things to do and see, Kings Park and Caversham wildlife park are good and at the latter you'll get to pet Kangaroos. I love living in Perth, you'll hear people say it's isolated - but for me it doesn't feel that it is, we also find plenty to do. My children were 7 and 11 when we moved and my eldest (now 19) has said that she has been happy to have her teenage years here in Aus/Perth. I think politics are politics the world over, and certainly the health system here to work in has both plus and minus points and just like the NHS is confined to a budget ... we've recently had a freeze on recruitment (the second whilst I've been here) ,
verystormy
Hopefully some of our nurse members will come along and sy more. But as an outsider, I think both health systems have similar problems. As for Perth, yes we like it. Fir what to do when you come for a visit, it will depend a bit on the time of year. Perth does have a winter.
