Lou8670
I haven't been to many but I'll happily share my experience of the ones I have been to... Baltizar (on the Esplanade), Perth - warm, cosy restaurant, excellent service and food, a little pricy and unfortunately the dishes I ordered I wasn't so keen on (not to my taste...too many lentils...rather than they weren't any good). $150 per head for 3 courses with wine and desert wine. Meant to be one of Perth's top restaurants and would be lovely for a romantic meal or special occasion. Royal on the Waterfront, Perth - I much preferred the food here, lovely setting overlooking the water but it's only let down was that the restaurant feels like your in a big conference room. It's probably fine if there's a large group of you. It was about $60 for 2 courses and drinks (2 pints and soft drinks) Sunsets, Rockingham Foreshore - casual dining overlooking the beach. Great food and they do a lunch deal during the week; $20 for a main and glass of wine or pint of beer Edited August 2, 2014 by Lou8670
ROB T
Love reading people's experiences about various eateries. However, I am most disappointed to see that not a single Dome Cafe features anywhere. I thought you would all appreciate a Big Breakfast or Squashed Frog, got no taste you lot!!..... Lol

Arwen
I haven't found anywhere that does a decent eggs benedict. Why places can't get the hollandaise sauce right is beyond me. Great muffins, ham, eggs but really ****ty hollandaise.

Great food and they do a lunch deal during the week; $20 for a main and glass of wine or pint of beer I remember when we came here 12 years ago and were living in East Perth. The Royal was just being built and that became our local for many years. The people who owned and ran it were fantastic and even though its a large place it still felt like home from home to us a bit like cheers where everyone knows your name. We still like to go back especially in the summer months as it's a gorgeous place to sit and enjoy a meal outside. Also you may catch a glimpse of Hank Marvin and his wife walking along there as they live in the apartments next door

Blimey Nikki I can't believe that you would suggest that Dome's hollandaise sauce isn't freshly made and comes out of a carton instead!! nikkiwd
I can't speak for Dome specifically but know lots of places do it, maybe you can confirm for us Rob? Or is it made fresh by the highly skilled staff?
Raychelsb
I am loving this post! Me and my husbands favourite pastime is finding good places to eat, we love to treat ourselves to high end places for special occasions, and also love a good chinese and Indian so will be looking forward to trying out your recommended places on here. When we visited last year, we liked the lucky shag at the bottom if the city, good food and a lovely setting outside. I also loved the passionate shag cocktail. Lol Trouble with Dome, and many other outlets, is that they serve 'beef' sausages, yuk!, if Dome were to serve Pork, then indeed it would be a top nosh. All imho of course. Amazing value, place and service. Buffet is only $29 per head for lunch and $39 per head for dinner. .

ali
I love the Lucky Shag too! Best view ever and the foods always been good. Proper pub grub. We got a fantastic scoopon - seafood platter to share (loads of stuff on it) and a bottle of Margaret River Wine for $49. The good was excellent (both times we bought this offer). They didn't load the plate up with chips to pretend you were getting a lot ... my hubby's only criticism was the mussels weren't very big ... but you got, fish in batter, grilled fish, prawns, salt and pepper squid, chilli mussels, smoked salmon and octopus salad.
