We've flown the A380 twice(Emirates) fantastic aircraft the lack of noise and sheer size is amazing. Just got to try the Dreamliner to compare now

Enjoy it it you won't be disappointed.

A380 is a nice aircraft to fly in. Its very quiet and spaceous inside and with the added bonus of the safety factor of 4 engines. As a passenger you wouldn't even notice it is made of 'non metalic' composite materials! So instead of flying in a tin can you are flying in a plastic water bottle.

I flew back from Brisbane the weekend before last and not sure what plane it was but it was Virgin, a five hour flight not even a radio no screens nothing! Reminded me of the old bucket & spades to Majorca years ago. The trolley kept hitting my arm, no leg space and only two toilets and a screaming baby for the full 5 hours absolute nightmare. We were sat at the top on the A380 it was great.

We came in on SA 380 aircraft end of July - no hassle and relatively good entertainment (movies selection). Longish queues to the loos, though. Try to check in in advance and get to front of plane so you don't have to care about the rest of the cabin sections (there are many) :cute: Safe travels!

Did it have 2 seats an aisle then 2 seats?? If so it was an Embraer 190. If it was 3 aisle 3 it was a 737 and 3 aisle 4 aisle 3 then it was an A330. I don't think their Fokker100's fly that far east ( or west in your case). You should try the old A300 it had about 250 or more seats but there were no partitions so it was like flying in a cinema!

Im really worried about the sheer size of i. Have pre booked seats and yes we are upstairs, unfortunately in economy!!! My stomach literally turned yesterday when I saw it. Im not great with flying anyway!!!!

Ah you'll be fine, because it is so big you forget you're on a plane. We had zero turbulence. Hey and free alcohol helps!

The A380 is still a tin can, it's the A350 that's a plastic pig (&787 Dreamliner) it's only the flying controls & fairings that are composite

I had the same worries before Donna, just can't understand how something that size gets off the ground! We flew on an A380 when we came out in May and it was great, loads of space, empty rows so we slept a bit. It was so smooth and quiet and when we had to change planes in Singapore for the Perth leg we were crammed on to a smaller, older plane that was packed and we realised how much better the previous plane was.

All the side and upper fuselage skins are of composite make-up (GLARE) also the centre wing structure and ribs and 80% of rear fuselage is composite. GLARE is a composite sandwich with Al Li alloy.
