gar374
Woohoo, So the final piece in the puzzle arrived this afternoon. A quick scan of the new passport and emailed it to Visa Bureau and by 1730 tonight our visa application had been lodged and the mahoosive payment have hit my credit card. Again a wee bit emotional, but VB said it would be 10 weeks before we get a case officer and then we'll have to book police checks and medicals. Fingers crossed there are no issues, I guess there shouldn't be due to the fact we've gone through an agent. So, we're hoping to have quite an xmas present this year. Keith
Good luck, hope it goes straight through for you and your family , those 10 weeks give you some time to plan ahead as soon you will be on the plane! We are also hoping to get our visa lodged this week!
gar374
You'll get there @Ashlenelouise, we're way ahead of schedule due to the fact the skills assessment took 11 days (not working days, actual days) rather than the expected 12 weeks. Truth be told we were expecting to still be waiting for the ASC to come back to us. We've told our friends and family @beendownunder but only updating close family at the minute. Even then, you guys are the only ones to know about this step so far. I start a new job in a couple of weeks and don't want anything to jeopardise that as we need the money I'm going to be earning to get there. To that end, I've had to remove anything from Facebook in case it gets checked and will have to be very guarded for a while after I start. The problem is, I know loads of folk that already work there. Looks like there is no probation period though so if they do find out I should be ok. Thanks @cocolevi, I'm sure you won't be far behind. @Keith, we thought you would have done yours by now tbh. It was painful waiting for that last passport to arrive, but chuffed VB worked their magic in an afternoon. Good luck getting yours in? We're not planning anything at the minute. We need to get the funds together so will have (what seems now like ages) quite some time to sort things out after we've been granted. We may even pop over and validate before moving over there, depending on how the saving goes. We've been living off redundancy money for a while, so having a proper job will boost the savings until we go. Where are you planning on heading to? We think we'll be south of Perth. My mum is in Safety Bay so we fancy Port Kennedy - Halls Head but really don't know yet. Hoping to be granted by Xmas but will be staying here until the year limit after medical/police checks deadline. Thanks for the support guys, this forum really is a huge help. The emotional roller coaster is tough at times and I'm sure we'll have wobbles when we get there, but I think having realistic expectations is the key. Danny (5) is desperate to get there and Emily (19) is still unsure of what she wants, but having everyone together will help our chances of success. Keith
I hope it all goes well with your new job, be great to get some money coming in for the big move and if you're not in a rush then you got plenty of time to save good luck with it. yes we thought we would be able to put the app in last week but our agent needed this yrs P 60 and I hadn't had it so had a bit of messing round getting that, but hopefully fingers crossed it will be lodged this week or early next week!! We too have looked around Halls Head it looks really nice, but Michelle has family in Fremantle so at first we are looking around there just to be close by to have them to ask things to until we are settled then who knows where we will end up, I suppose it depends on where I end up getting a job too. It definitely has been a roller coaster and the most stressful thing we have ever been through, glad this bit is nearing the end and soon we will all be on the on the other side, we wish you luck keep us posted with your progress.
