Hi All,

I'm Andy, I'm 34 years old and I'm all set for the big move down under with my beautiful girlfriend on a permanent residency visa. We arrive in Perth on October 10th.

I've been in the window and glazing industry for 18 years doing everything from window/conservatory installations, glass replacement, frameless glass/mirror installations to full window refurbishment and some experience of glass and window fabrication and preparation.

The time has now come where we both start looking for work in our new country and I am hoping to connect with other people in my industry who may be able to help me land on my feet; anything from advice on good companies to contact, to job offers!

I would love to hear from anyone who might have any insight for me. I have CV ready to send out, and I am ready to start work as soon as the right opportunity presents itself.

Look forward to chatting with some of you :)

Andy (and Gabi)

Cheers, thanks for taking the time to write anyway! :)

Hoping to make the most of these forums for as much as we can over the next few months, and beyond! Work, friends, local advice... maybe hopefully be able to offer advice and experiences to others down the line! It's quite intense uprooting your whole life to chase a better one on the other side of the world!

Hi Andy, I just noticed your post as I was on here posting a job opportunity we have with one of our clients for a Glazier. Have a look at the role on the link (if the link works on here) and submit your resume (CV) http://www.irp.net.au/job-search/job-details.php?Glazier/in/Fremantle+and+Southern+Suburbs/5887311

Google "Industrial Recruitment Partners" and you'll find us.

Although the client are after someone right away it is for ongoing work so there could be further opportunities for the right candidate. Happy to check your details and put your resume in front of the client if necessary.

Good luck with the move - I've been here for a couple of years now and have never looked back!

Luke
