WA Government Nomination visa 190

Eng

Recommended Posts

I am on the same boat as you guys.

But just need some clarification...as I understand it ..if the job is only available in schedule 2, the job offer would need to be emailed, along with the rest of the docs

only after you receive the invite to apply for state sponsorship....so this should technically not be a hurdle to obtain the SS invite to apply from WA.

I had lodged my EOI on 18 Aug 2014 ...and am still waiting ..fingers crossed...

I asked WA govt the same question and got the response below.

The Government of Western Australia can nominate skilled people for nominated visas. There are two nominated visas available:

· Skilled – Nominated (subclass 190) visa: a permanent visa allowing the successful applicant to live and work in all areas of Western Australia.

· Skilled – Nominated (Provisional) (subclass 489) visa: a four year temporary visa allowing the successful applicant to live and work in regional Western Australia, but not in the Perth metropolitan area.

If you are nominated by Western Australia for one of these visas, you must commit to:

· Remain living and working in Western Australia for a period of two years; or

· Register your arrival, which will activate your two year commitment to Western Australia.

· Complete settlement survey during the two year period.

The first step in applying for State nomination is to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the Department of Immigration and Border Protection SkillSelect database.

Skilled Migration Western Australia reviews the EOIs in SkillSelect weekly and makes contact with eligible applicants.

For your EOI to be eligible you must meet all the following criteria:

· Score at least 60 for the DIBP points test. This includes the points for State nomination which are automatically included in your EOI:

o Five points for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190); and

o Ten points for the Skilled Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489).

· Have evidence of a skills assessment suitable for permanent migration in your nominated occupation.

· Have an available nominated occupation on the Western Australian skilled migration occupation list schedule 1 or 2 (WASMOL).

· Have evidence of at least competent English. This is defined as an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) result of at least six in each band. If your occupation is listed on the WASMOL under managers or professionals, you require a score of seven in each band for IELTS or a B in the Occupational English Test.*

· Be younger than 50 years of age.

· Have at least one year of work experience within Australia or three years of work experience overseas within the last ten years in your nominated or closely related occupation.

· Have selected ‘Western Australia’ or ‘Any State or territory’ as your preferred State.

*If you have a passport from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, the United States of America or Ireland you are not required to sit an English exam.

Please refer to the State nomination criteria for more information regarding your eligibility for State nomination:

If your EOI appears to meet the above requirements in the preliminary assessment, you will receive an email advising you that your expression of interest is being considered by Western Australia. No action is to be taken at this stage.

After further consideration, if eligible, you will receive another email with an invitation to apply for State nomination.

You will then have 28 days to complete your application which must meet the State nomination criteria.

There will be a $200 non-refundable application fee.

If your application is successful, Skilled Migration Western Australia will nominate you in SkillSelect and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will send you an invitation to apply for your visa.

I believe you lodge your EOI, if you are being considered then they will tell you and ask for your job offer before giving you state sponsorship. If they are happy they will offer you state sponsorship then you will receive an invite to apply for the visa a couple of days later.

If your occupation is schedule 2 do you have a formal offer of a job in WA? Adverts and possibilities of a job are not what is needed. You need a company that has agreed to employ you and provided you with full details of the contract. If you have not got that then you will be refused.

Hey guys, need your views on info marked in red color. Does it mean that after arrival in Perth and registering with WA govt. , one can move to another state for search of work (for state nominated PR) ?

do you have a job offer for a role at least 12 months in duration?

Hi Verystormy,

Can you please also advise that Job offer is required for applying 489 visa if your occupation is in Schedule 2 for 190 subclass?

I am talking in terms with HR Advisor 223111. I am keen to know about 489, in case if job offer is not mandetory then I might be able to apply this subclass.

Please confirm. Thanks.

Any type of visa that requires WA state sponsorship and is shcedule 2 requires a job offer valid for a minimum of 12 months. So, it applies to both 190 and 489

Hi Again Verystormy,

I have an inquiry regarding the SKILLED VISA SCHEME NOMINATION DECLARATION form. When usually the State/Territory asks the Applicant to sign the form and how long does it to take for them to reply with Rejection/Acceptance of SS 190?

Please suggest. Thanks.

It depends on the individual case including factors of occupation, points and how many sponsorships already granted. Though, i have known them to just not bother sending rejections for cases that do not meet the criteria - which, if you have applied for a schedule 2 role without a job offer would be in that catergory
