190 WA (Perth) Visa (What savings do we need?)

Hi,

I was just wondering what savings we need before lodging our application? We do not have much at the moment but my parents have £10,000 in an ISA for me but it is in there name. We will be paying for visa, skills test, flights etc out of our wages over the next year. On top of this we have made a budget and we hope to come over to Perth in December next year with £20000 to £25000 in total.

Any advice would be great!!

Thanks

Hi, will you be shipping out any belongings/furniture? if so then this can cost anywhere from £1000-£6000. If you aren't shipping furniture etc then buying here is something else you may need to budget for. Furnished rentals are pretty hard to find. Also $3000 is a bit on the low side for a car, used cars are a lot more expensive here.

Thanks for the reply. Will not be shipping anything out so will have to get basic furniture when we arrive. I forgot about that so thank!! Also my figures are in £'s so its about $5300 for a car. Would be looking for something that is 10 years old or there abouts, would that cover?

We bought our low km's, 2005 Kia Sportage for $2k. It was hail damaged so not pretty but it was a great car and served us well for three years. Check out Carsales.com.au for guide prices but make sure you're looking at WA, East coast cars seem to be a little cheaper.
