Scotty
Hopefully someone can help me. I am confused by the Engineers Australia assessment of my qualifications. I only need my degree assessed and not my work experience as it was pre-degree. I have completed the form for Dublin Accord assessment as I gained my degree in Scotland. The cost seems to be $320 which doesnt seem too bad but on the webiste it also mentions an administration fee but this is not on the form. The other confusing thing is no where on the form does it ask for my chosen skilled profession (Mechanical Engineer) for skilled visa. DyLeB
I thought mechanical engineer came under Washington Accord as professional engineer.

Scotty
I have just checked this out and I think it is Washington Accord. I have a Beng Mechanical and Offshore Engineering. Still nowhere on the form where you need to say what skilled visa i will be applying for. (Mechanical Engineer, Plant Engineer etc)
DyLeB
I think that EA decide what to classify you as with the components of your degree, and if you are working under a different occupation title than your degree you need to go down the CDR route. I've seen it happen in the past, that people have had to get another assessment so that they can claim their work experience, as work in different occupation from their degree. My OH had to do the CDR for mechanical engineer as his engineering masters was not under Washington Accord, he has French degree and chartered with iMECHI. Sydney and Dublin accords are for lower qualifications than professional engineer and give occupations for migration as technician and associate. Prob worth speaking to a registered migration agent, we spoke to Overseas emigration in Edinburgh, we were going to use them but our application was quite straight forward at that point, plus they wouldn't have been able to do the difficult part of writing the CDR.
