Laz
We are taking all our large appliances which will be packed up soon and put into storage for a few (maybe even 6) months. I will get them all disconnected at least a week before they go into storage but I imagine there will still be moisture inside. Has anyone got ideas for how to prevent mould/smell etc? I saw silica gel mentioned in the other thread. I am presuming I can't put coffee beans inside as it's a food item (I saw that suggested somewhere too). Druid
Mine were used the night before they were loaded into a container with absolutely no problems of smelling or mould, with your fridge trap a couple of pieces of foam in the door then tape it shut so there is a gap and the fridge can breath and stops it from smelling, the washing machine was just bleached before it got loaded to kill off any existing mould. Plimthing
our fridge was used right up until the end. We defrosted it, wiped it dry and taped door shut. 8 weeks later plugged it in over here, fresh wipe round, no problems whatsoever, except it isnt big enough for my beer supply. When you say you bleached the washer, did you put the bleach in the drawer and just run a wash or did you put the bleach into a cap then straight into the drum then run wash. Fill all the compartments in the drawer with bleach then put in a warm wash cycle, kill all the bugs & lurgs
