vehicle import permit - is it a pink slip that you need?

I just got an email through with my approved vehicle import permit. The permit is pink - is that the all important document I require? Just checking as I recall being told it was a yellow slip of paper...but, maybe things have changed. TIA!

There should be multiple copies of it, one for each hoop that you have to jump through, each copy is addressed to the various departments that you have to deal with, mine were all white but hard copies not soft copies

Thanks...they are sending hard copies of the forms I need in Australia (to an Australian address) but what I want to know is whether the pink soft copy letter is the essential document for the UK side of things. Am wondering if anyone has same pink slip?

You don't need anything in the UK, you just have to assure your shipping company that you have a permit, they will ship it anyway, you paying them, they don't care if it gets impounded on the dock at Fremantle, they will get paid again to ship it back, there were a few brave enough to ship while still waiting for the permit, luckily the permits got issued before the ship docked.

 

When your car is loaded into the container, look on your V5 for the slip that says. 'Permanently Exported' sign it and only send that slip in, you will need your V5 in Australia to register it again
