Guest
Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has gone through the 457 application process recently, and if so, how long did it take? We're really just curious about how long it's taking at the moment - my OH is just waiting on employer nomination (it's WA Govt, so already an approved sponsor) so as soon as we get the reference number we can get our application lodged - all our documents are ready to upload, medical is done and police certificates are ready to upload so we should have everything we need covered. Cheers Ben

English Rose
Ours has been in for just over five weeks now, but I know they are working on it as they asked for health insurance documents. Good luck. X
Plimthing
Id say you will be here before Christmas if you're ready to go! Bring your factor 30 with you and some deet! As long as your paperwork is in order you will be good to go. Once they had all our papers it was 2 days!

Guest
I just wanted to share my experience of this as I've received so much conflicting information along the way. My partner's employer is an approved sponsor (healthcare). Our nomination approvals took three working days. We then received a letter which contained two reference numbers which enabled us to complete the application. We completed our visa application last Saturday and received our grant letters this morning (five working days). Just for reference, here's what we uploaded - this is for a 457 Visa: My partner (primary applicant): AHPRA Registration eligibility letter, colour scan Birth Certificate (certified, obtained as a copy from national records office, colour scan) Degree Certificate, colour scan Degree Transcript, colour scan Post Graduate Certificate Certificate, colour scan Post Graduate Certificate Transcript, colour scan A Level Certificates, colour scans CV, colour scan Black and white copy of Passport, certified by solicitor Colour scan of Passport Passport photo, colour scan Employment references x 2, colour scans Police Certificate, colour scan Prior to nomination my partner had also had a medical meeting the requirements for healthcare workers. For me (secondary applicant): Birth Certificate (certified, obtained as a copy from national records office, colour scan) Black and white copy of Passport, certified by solicitor Colour scan of Passport Passport photo, colour scan Police Certificate, colour scan Evidence of our defacto relationship (Water bill, Travel ticket receipts, Council Tax Bill, Credit Card in both names, Home insurance policy). We may have provided more documents than are strictly required - but it's actually meant that getting a visa has been the most straightforward part of our journey so far... far easier than AHPRA and actually getting a job!!!
