Go online and check out 'Finn Franchise Brokers' or just Google 'Perth WA Businesses for Sale'. You wil have a choice of maybe three sites where you can search specifically for just franchises if you wish. Some will be brand new start-ups whilst others will be already trading. Worth a look as there are many to choose from. Rob

A franchise, is a business model to make people think they are running their own business, when in fact they are still working (usually much harder and longer hours) for someone further up the food chain. Franchises are and can be very successful, but anyone who thinks that it is an easy way into running your own business would be a fool, easily parted with sometimes a lot of cash.

hi

Might be completely wrong but you cannot transfer an ABN because if someone is selling a business/franchise they are told that after completing all obligations to the taxman etc to cancel that ABN. l think you have to personally apply for your own ABN, might be wrong but have looked it up and cant find anything that says franchises come with an ABN.http://www.franchise.net.au/advice/issues/opinion/do-you-need-to-register-your-business- this link is helpful to all of those looking.

Although it isn't compulsory to have an ABN it is required for tax purposes. If you register for the goods and services tax you'll need an ABN, and it should be noted on any invoices or sales documentation.

If you don't use an ABN your business may find other firms hold back 46.5 percent from any payment to you.

Registrations for ABNs are managed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

I need to buy into a franchise business that is ideally trading and has an ABN that will transfer to the new owner

Feel free to send me details of any that you know of

Thank you

lol.... bugsyburrell that did make me chuckle... they sell because there is more money in having your business as franchises and letting everyone else do the work... bit like renting out commercial estate and getting rent Macdonalds prime one.... they usually own the land that its plonked on as well... if you can turn your business into a franchise and its successful.... you are on a big big winner.... now all l got to do is think of something everyone wants and start branching out..... *sigh*

Has it got to be a franchise?? There's some good independent companies up for grabs in and around Perth. It always raises questions in my mind if the franchise is so successful why are they selling?
