nikkiwd Posted February 5, 2015 Report Share Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) My son just started Kindy (pre-school) today at the local government primary school which his sister goes to. The kids here do a year of kindy then a year of pre-primary before going into year 1, funded by government unless you choose to go private. He gets 2 full days one week and 3 full days the next week alternating. At this school you enrol for the year your child is 4 (can't remember cut off dates) but they prioritise kids who live in the local catchment area and you have to show proof off address when enroling. I am not sure they would let you fill out an enrolment form if you haven't got an address and medicare card etc but worth asking them if you have a school in mind. I believe they don't have to accommodate your child if there are no places left, even if you live in the catchment area but someone else may know better.
