verystormy
I know we have a number of members who live in Baldivis. If you are new to Oz then you need to check dfes.com.au for intrusions. Turn off off your air con and be prepared to leave or defend. My opinion for people not used to bush fires is to leave. If the dfes advice for your area is leave or be prepared to fight, you should leave immediately unless you are already prepared to fight. Stay safe. There are brochures online on what to do if there's a bush fire. I picked up one from Bunnings; it tells you how to prepare yourselves. Interestingly it states that even if you live in the city or built up area you should still be well prepared as the embers can travel for 25 mins in the air. I did see all the FB notifications that this had happened. It's pretty obvious it's arson when you see where the fires were reported. Apparently it's been chaos on the freeway tonight with some drivers getting angry with the police and using the hard shoulder which is a nightmare for the emergency services. Give me a break!
That's horrendous! All the poor animals and as if the Fries haven't had enough on their plate. Hope it doesn't affect anyone's properties. I know my friend has been checking on people's backyard pets making sure they are all safe while their owners were at work. Apparently they shut the Kwinana freeway, that would cause some chaos. Hope they catch the idiots.
elfie
Took hubby to airport made it back before this happened, it was the same 3 weeks prior I just got back before freeway was closed. When I was coming into SH I thought there may have been a fire on the scrub land adjacent to Warnbro Sound Ave just past Port Kennedy. Someone must know who is setting these fires. For shame on them lets hope they are caught before lives are lost.
Rossmoyne
The Police have issued a $50,000 reward for any information leading to the prosecution of this pyromaniac/arsonist. On FB page "Baldivis Eye's on our Neighbourhood", there have been lots of comments about a bloke acting suspiciously on a green trail bike being seen in the area at the time, and some people have dash cam evidence they have passed to the Police and Arson Squad. Only a matter of time before they catch him methinks. Just hope that when they do that the judiciary throw the book at him, so that not only does he have a huge fine and get to spend time behind bars, but has to do community service work with victims of bushfires.... property, people and animals who have been injured because of his sick actions.
