benj1980
I'm looking to book our one way flight for November. Problem is two of my children will need a replacement passport in this time as they expire in May '16. Am I going to incur a fee if I book now to change the details? Or am I not required to give passport details? We are looking to fly with Singapore Airways as we had a great experience with them previously, although I can't remember if they asked for our passport details when booking (although I suspect they did!) I realise that I have to inform AU immigration and can change their passports mid August (expiry in 9 months is the max) I'm just worried prices will go up or the seats be filled! odies
I may be wrong but I think you only give the passport details for the visa, may be different if you book through a travel agent but I always book online

verystormy
Your visa is tied to the passport - hence how they know when you arrive that you have a visa. But, as long as the passport is still valid when they travel, it shouldnt be a problem to travel on it and passports can be renewed from Oz when they expire and then you can inform immi of the new passport numbers
Lou8670
You just update Immi and the airline you've booked with of your new passport numbers. I've not heard of any extra cost for doing this. This is what we did as a couple of passports in our family were renewed after booking but before we travelled. We travelled with Singapore Airlines. Thats good to know, maybe it's worth me emailing them. Verystormy our agent said immi don't like less than 2 years on child validating passports?! Not in November they won't. Best time to fly. Cheap and empty. I just booked a ticket with Emirates, £600 return. You don't need your passport when booking. I have to renew mine actually.
