mintpro
My partner and I arrive on the 29th May and reading Odies 1st week there made me think about things to do in Perth and hence this thread! So what are your favorite things to see and do in Perth?

mintpro
It's a stunning country. We're in Auckland mainly because of our jobs, but house prices and everything else we can't afford have helped in the decision to move. Looks like your not there that long. How has it all been? FOL
This has often been described for people who were looking for things to do with visitors, but they apply to newly-migrants as well. As an examplke I searches for "pinnacles" on this site and you get many topics: http://www.perthpoms.com/forum/search.php?searchid=630428 Just two topics: http://www.perthpoms.com/forum/expats-perth/18042-ideas-days-out-visitors.html http://www.perthpoms.com/forum/expats-perth/16332-8-days-left-what-should-we-do.html

FOL
nothing lol fair enough, I never been there, so I figured they might have lounge chairs with a great cafe or something. Just wondering, are there any places with lounge/beach couches on the beach NOR? Something like: where it is a bit more crowded during the weekends. Something like the various cafe's in Hillarys, but then on the beach?
Scot01
If you see any photo of a Perth beach it is usually Cottesloe. The Indianan Tea House is an iconic building and the pylon that is just off the beach. You use to be able to climb the pylon and jump of it but can't do that now. There are some good fish and chip shops near by and lots of cafes and good restaurants. Major beach events usually happen at Cott - like the Rottnest swim, sculpture by the sea and whenever there is a UK TV company here they will film from there - so it is just somewhere you should see. There are other beautiful beaches but Cott is the tourist one to go to.
