cutchibear
Hi all! We are beginning to plan our first few days in Perth and I am seeking a little clarification on the tasks we need to complete. I know these questions have been asked before but I can never seem to find a simple answer...perhaps me being daft! So immediate tasks involve: * Attend bank to activate account and order/collect bank cards. * Register with Medicare * Register with Centrelink * Get Tax File Number. Also: * Register with immigration office * Transfer driving licenses My questions 1) I have found two separate offices for Medicare and Centrelink but then i have read from some posts that they are at the same place?! Can anyone clarify? 2) For our TFN, we simply need to apply online and wait for the documents in the post? No need to attend an interview or anything? Thanks in advance!!! Matt&beck
You can't apply for centre link without your tax file number so do that online straight away. It takes up to 28 days but often comes in a week. And it depends on which office you are looking to go to to know if they are in together, all our different. cutchibear
thanks @Matt&beck that makes sense now re the offices - i've just had a look on the map and i can see how some medicare/centrelink are at the same place. So until we receive our TFN in the post we can't register with centrelink?
