Jueglittergirl
We have PR visa for my occupation. However OH is a welder 25 years experience, trade qualifications 20 yrs old. What paperwork does he need to gain employment in WA, I've looked on line with lots of info from TRA but linked to visa applications. Do we need to spend £1000+ to get his skills assessed as equivalent to AQF or will resume get him in the door. I know once he has a foot in the door he can do the work required very well. Your experiences and advice is very much sought.
verystormy
No, he doesn't need a skills assessment. Some trades require a WA license but I have never heard of a welder needing one. He is likely to need white card / blue card and maybe some other tickets such as confined space.
Weedolly
have a look at some of the vacancies on seek.com and see what they are asking for, different types of welding are asking for different things.
